Australian Quaker Centre (AQC)

Conditions of stay

Booking conditions

i. We cannot accommodate pets other than certified guide dogs.

ii. All buildings are non-smoking areas and no alcohol is allowed on site.

iii. Our refunds policy is given in the registration form. No refund is available if you cancel less then 48 hours before the course or retreat begins, if you do not come, or if your leave early for any reason. You may like to consider taking out your own cancellation insurance.

iv. The AQC reserves the right to cancel any course or retreat at any time. This would normally be because the course leader has become unable to lead the course, or because the course has too few registrants. As a general rule, 5 registrants is the minimum viable number. If a course is cancelled, the participant will receive a full refund, or may transfer a registration to another course which has a vacancy.

v. Those with special needs are given special consideration in the allocation of rooms. The number of single rooms is limited and they are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who ask for a single room but cannot be given one, may cancel and receive a full refund, or may transfer their registration to another course which has a vacancy and a single room is available.

vi. Participants may arrive anytime during the first day, and are encouraged to come early to enjoy the site and to settle in. Rooms will be available from noon. A light lunch will be available. Welcome and orientation to the site will be offered during the afternoon. The first group session of a course will normally take place after dinner (6-7pm) and before epilogue (9pm). The last session will normally take place after morning worship on the last day (9-10am) and departure will normally be after lunch (12.30pm).

vii. Participants are asked to notify travel arrangements to the AQC Administrator at least 1 week before arrival. Those arriving in Bungendore by train or bus, will be picked up and brought to the AQC. Those arriving at the airport will need to take a taxi to Silver Wattle or to Bungendore. We will endeavour to put those arriving on the same day in touch with each other so together they may arrange to share a taxi.

viii. We ask each resident to help in the community work program, according to their capabilities.
